One thing that I found a bit strange about the blackjack was the ringer volume. The default setting when I got it was not very loud and I could not figure out how to turn it up. After a bit of exploration on the phone I finally figured out how you do it.
The easiest way is to click on power button at the top of the phone. This is the same button you use to turn off the phone. When you do this you are taken to a screen labeled as "Quick List". At the bottom of the options you can select there are a series of profiles such as Normal, Silent and Outdoors. If you select the option for Outdoors, this will probably require you to hit the last option for More first before you see it, your ringer volume will automatically be turned up.
The other way to set the ringer volume is to select the Start button of the home screen on the phone. In the next screen that comes up select the "Settings Icon". In setting navigate to Profiles. Within profiles you can select one of the default profiles or if you select the Menu button you can edit or add a profile. Within the edit profile screen there is an option to set the Ring Volume and you can set this to loud. You can also set the volume of other reminders such as when you get an email or a voice mail. Once you have done this you should select the profile you want to use so that it is now your phones profile.
Kind of a convoluted way to set the volume of the ringer, but once you know it its not so bad.
